how river otters digest Their food
Otters go through a similar process of digestion as compared to humans. Their digestive system composes of the liver, gall bladder, esophagus, pancreas and intestines.(1) Both use their teeth to mash our food so that it is easier to swallow. The next step is the food goes down the esophagus to the stomach where it enters their stomach and gets broken down even more. Then it reaches the intestines and this process does happen faster than most mammals.
